Mawkins' Farm and Forest

Our approach is a unique way of blending aspects of Forest School ethos and farming to create an inspirational learning and development concept that enables learners to develop and explore through hands-on experiences.  Regular opportunities to achieve through child-appropriate activities are presented, and learners are able to take responsibilities for themselves and others in a natural woodland environment as well as engage with farming.

We aim to promote a positive attitude to learning and building confidence, self-esteem and independence. Our ethos considers learners holistically and well delivered programmes are characterised by establishment of positive relationships and development of activities in learner-appropriate, achievable steps.

What we offer

All of our sessions take place at the Norfolk Showground, this enables us to provide a unique experience for children who not only get a chance to explore the forest area but also farming and farm animals, depending on the season.

Bumblebees is our session which is suitable from walking to 5 years old.

This is a relaxed and friendly session which operates on a pay per session basis. Each session costs £6, with non-walking siblings being free.

Blackbirds caters for children aged between 5 and 12 years old.

Blackbirds has been setup to act as an after school club or for those who are home educated. Children will lead their own learning in the woods as well as making the most of other areas of the Norfolk Showground.

All children taking part in this session will need to be accompanied by an adult. Each session costs £6.
